The Negrita is an Italian rock band, formed in the early nineties in Capolona, ​​in the province of Arezzo. They take their name from the song by The Rolling Stones Hey! Negrita .

Their origins date back to the second half of the eighties, in which initially the group (still in the training phase) decided to make itself known under the pseudonym Gli Inudibili.

The project seems to be going well and in 1991 they decided to send out two demos ( Here is early evening and Zingara of the night ) to independent radio and various producers of the underground music club, but without any success.

In 1992 the bassist Franco Li Causi was added to the group and with the third demo-tape they gathered the attention of a young producer, Fabrizio Barbacci, who decided to put them under contract Black Out / PolyGram (currently Universal brand), proposing at the same time the battery Roberto "Zama" Zamagni (who had already hacked Maciste against everyone with the Consorzio Indipendenti).

The group is in a definitive formation and, having closed the experience of Gli Inudibili, decides to be called Negrita.

In the summer of 1993 they work to record their first album.

And now ... after 25 years the Negrita are ready to launch " Desert Yacht Club ", their tenth album released on March 9th and which pays homage to the homonymous creative oasis founded by Alessandro Giuliano in the desert of Joshua Tree in California .
